BIOGRAPHY
Noam Zonshine (b. 1992) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tel Aviv, Israel. She graduated from Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in 2018. Her work grows out of personal archives—old family photographs from picnics, domestic scenes, and moments of gathering—alongside lived experiences such as motherhood and the shifting realities of life in Israel. Moving between memory and the present, her practice lingers on quiet gestures and fragile moments where the private and the political gently, and sometimes painfully, meet.
Artist Statement
I approach my art from a deeply personal place, often working with family photographs that I alter and reimagine through oil painting and hand-painted azulejos tiles. I learned the ancient tile-painting technique from my mother, whose practice remains a lasting influence on my work.
My work explores intimacy and memory, and the quiet ways private lives are shaped by collective reality. Living in Israel, where political and social turmoil permeates everyday life, deeply affects both my subject matter and emotional approach. Motherhood has further shaped my practice, becoming a lens through which I negotiate vulnerability, care, and the balance between art and life.
